About Jaq

I strongly believe people are the experts in their own lives and when deeply listened to and held in a safe space, addressing challenges is made more possible. Ultimately, the goal of counselling is for greater self- acceptance and stepping more fully into our wholeness.

My approach is trauma informed, strengths based, compassionate and creative. My skills are informed by many social and psychological modalities and theories for healing, including feminist, intersectional and social justice frameworks.

The therapeutic tools I draw on include Sand Play Therapy, Compassionate Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Eco Therapy and Somatic approaches to help you explore parts of the self and to help normalise the human experience.

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land and waters of Australia, particularly the Wurundjeri peoples of the greater Kulin Nation, on whose land I live, work, and play. I pay my respects to their Elders, past and present, and honor their deep wisdom and connection to country.
